Barbara Sue Wynn, 82, of Cecilton, Maryland, passed peacefully into the presence of her Lord on Friday, June 5, 2026.
Born in Twila, Kentucky, Barbara was the beloved daughter of the late Brady and Deloria (née Hensley) Wynn. She was one of 15 children and grew up in a large, close-knit family that helped shape her deep faith and strong character.
A dedicated administrative assistant for many years, Barbara worked in banking and concluded her career with MBNA. She was a woman of profound Christian faith and a longtime, faithful member of Victory Christian Fellowship Church, where she once sang in the choir. Barbara took great joy in creating a beautiful home, gardening, and caring for her family. Known for her faith, strength, independence, and resilience, she faced life’s challenges with grace and determination. Above all, she was generous, empathetic, and deeply family-centered.
In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her siblings: Patricia Beesaw, Jewel Blanton, Herchel Wynn, Charles Wynn, Noble Wynn, Monroe Wynn, Herbert Wynn, Rev. Jerry Wynn, Elmer Wynn, and Murphy Wynn.
She is survived by her children: Linda Hewes (and husband Mark), Esther Dougherty, and Dee Davis (and husband Wade); her grandchildren: Mark Hewes, Joshua Hewes, Jessica Kerr, Corey Becker, Matthew Davis, Cole Davis, and Shannon Ferguson; her great-grandchildren: Mark Hewes III, Arthur Hewes, Tyler Kerr, Logan Kerr, and Luke Kerr; and brothers Ralph Wynn and Brady Wynn Jr.
A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at 12:00 pm at Anderson-Laws & Jones Funeral Home – 114 South 3rd Street, Harlan, Kentucky 40831. The family will begin receiving friends at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Wynn Cemetery.
