Barbara Reynolds Shallcross, age 86, of Rising Sun, MD passed away on Sunday, March 24, 2024. She was born in Annapolis, MD on January 31, 1938 to the late Thomas H. Reynolds and Catherine C. (Fisher) Reynolds.

Barbara was a life long member of Janes United Methodist Church. She loved to golf, garden, and bake. Barbara’s greatest joy of all was spending time with her family. She will always be remembered for her sweet, loving, and caring personality. Barbara will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Barbara is survived by her two daughters: Sue Ann Hougentogler (Steve) and Linda Lee Holsten; four grandchildren: Kyle VanDyke (Lindsey), Christopher Hougentogler, Carrie Webberking (Adam), and Kelly Denn (Josh); and four great-grandchildren plus one on the way.

In addition to her parents, Barbara is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Shallcross; son, Greg Shallcross; and sister, Betty Christy.

A celebration of Barbara’s life will be held at 11:00AM on Friday, March 29, 2024 at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, 111 South Queen Street, Rising Sun, MD 21911 where family and friends may begin visiting at 10:00AM. Burial will be held privately. Hearing the golf stories of Barbara and Libby were always such a hoot. I can hear Bob's laugh when they would stop in for a visit at our home on Pearl Street. But, the fondest memory I have is in the later years seeing Bob and Barb walking up Pearl Street for their daily exercise holding hands. They were so sweet and loved each other so much.
