Barbara L. Webb, 70, of Bear, DE, formerly of Rising Sun, MD, passed away unexpectedly at her home March 2, 2013.

Born in West Chester, PA on August 30, 1942, Barbara was the daughter of Ruth “Gerry” Webb and the late Hubert A. Webb. She was a graduate of Rising Sun High School where she was an outstanding athlete, and Goldey Beacom College. She worked as a legal secretary and most recently at Delaware Park. She was an animal lover, especially her cats, and was a talented flower gardener. She enjoyed spending time at the beach.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her brothers, Harold Webb and his wife Kathleen of Havre de Grace, MD, James Webb of Perryville and Wayne Webb and his wife Maralyn of Rising Sun; a sister, Judy Coudon and her husband George of Rising Sun; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her brother, Bobby.

A celebration of Barbara’s life will be held at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., 111 S. Queen St., Rising Sun, MD 21911 on Saturday March 9, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. Friends and family may call at the funeral home beginning at 10 am. Burial is private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Northern Chesapeake Hospice Foundation c/o the funeral home.

George and I want to express our sympathy to Barbara's family. We went to lunch today and as usual we asked if Barbara was working. We were in total shock when the host told us no, she died. I thought I heard him incorrectly. She took care of us like we were family. She never had to ask us what we wanted for lunch. She just brought us our regular meal. She always told of what was new in her life. She worked so hard for Delaware Park and was always a true professional. She will be so very much missed. R.I.P. Barb <3

we loved Barbara and always requested her when dining at delaware park, she was the greatest in sharing stories,we are in deep shock on her sudden passing, our prayers are with her and her family. We will miss her smile ,humor and charm terribly always.

I, too, remember that overnight trip to Aunt Barbara's and how embarrased Justin was at the song choice in celebration of his birthday! I remember the late Christmas Eve drop offs of the lasagna too. I will always remember how kind she was to Dad. Always supportive of him healthy and sick and I thank her for that. Glad that they are reunited and I take comfort in that. We will miss you Aunt Barbara.

Aunt Barbara was someone who cherished her family, anyone who knew her could tell that and we cherished her, too. One of my favorite memories is when she took all of us to Chuck E Cheese one year around Christmas. Now that I am an adult and have taken children there, I'm not sure how she handled all of us in that place! Just one example of how much we meant to her and she to us. Although we will miss you, Aunt Barbara, I know that you are enjoying the reunion in Heaven with your father and brother.

When I think about Aunt Barbara, my favorite memory is the year she had the Webb Family Christmas party at her then new house. It was the last one we had with Poppop. That will always be special to me and in my heart. I also loved the lasagnas she gave us every Christmas.

Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.

I loved listening to Aunt Barbara's stories and hearing her laugh. Christmas will never be the same and something will always be missing at the beach. She will live on with every niece whose car looks "just like Aunt Barbara's."
