Barbara “Barb” Anne Jefferson, age 75, of Cheyney, PA passed away Friday, November 30, 2018 after a long battle with cancer. She was born on August 30, 1943 in Philadelphia, PA to the late Clarence John Branyan and Bessie (Harris) Branyan.

Barb grew up in Philadelphia, PA and attended Northeast High School. She worked at Provident Mutual Life Insurance in West Philadelphia. Barb was a member of Bethany Baptist Church in Fox Chase, PA where she married Jeff while they were in college and went on to raise three boys. She worked in retail for over thirty years and was sales manager for the family toy business. Barb also organized a ladies’ social club (PTS), where she was “Queen Mum”. She loved the water and boating on the Chesapeake.

Barb is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, George “Jeff” Jefferson; her three sons: George (Constance) Jefferson of Ohio, Mike (Cira) Jefferson of PA, and William (Karen) Jefferson of PA; four grandchildren: Stella, Nathan, Paul and Joseph, whom she loved dearly; sister, Linda (Craig) Leslie of Florida; brother-in-law, John (Marion) Jefferson of Decorah, IA; and sister-in-law Betty (Ron) Levocz of Chadds Ford, PA.

A visitation will be held from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Friday, December 7, 2018 at Town Point United Methodist Church, 61 Port Herman Road, Chesapeake City, MD 21915. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, December 8, 2018 at Town Point United Methodist Church, where family and friends may begin visiting at 10:00 am. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made payable to the “Alzheimer’s Foundation” or the “American Diabetes Association” and sent in care of R.T. Foard Funeral Home, PO Box 27, Chesapeake City, MD 21915.

I still remember you and all the fun times we had growing up. I miss you very much. I can't believe a year has gone by. You will always be remembered.

George - We were saddened to learn of Barb's passing. She was a beautiful and classy lady who had a genuine smile for everyone. We know that she was your "sweetheart" and that you loved her dearly. You and your family are in our thoughts and prayers.

With sympathy to the Jefferson family. How wonderful to have friends to comfort you, memories of times spent together with Barbara Anne, perhaps by looking at photos. True remembering those times might be painful at first. In time though, these memories may help you to heal rather than cause you to hurt. Wishing you all these things in your time of sorrow.

Psalm 90:10 says that the days of our years are 70 years, And if because of special mightiness they are 80 years.
May the memories of the wonderful times you shared together bring a smile and joy in your heart.

My heart goes out to you and your family. I have many special memories of Barb in our high schools days, our parties, proms, and just hanging out with all our friends. She was a "special lady" and will be missed.

Barbara was always a sweet and loving person. She always greeted you with a warm smile and kind words. She has suffered for many years, but never stopped showing her affection for her friends. She is truly an angel now, sharing her loving affection with those in heaven. We will miss her dearly.

Barbara was such a special person, who will be deeply missed. Heaven has a new Angel, bringing her beautiful soul to add her shining light to heaven. We love you and will miss you until we see you again, Bob and Anne Vickery
