Barbara Ann McKeown, age 65 of Elkton, MD passed away on October 6, 2018. She was born on December 3, 1952 in New Brunswick, NJ to the late Tobe F. King and Alice W. (Donnelly) King.

Barbara graduated from Elkton High School in 1971. She went on to work for Schumacher in Newark, DE for many years. Barbara loved flowers and plants and she loved all types of crafts. She will be remembered for her crafty talent.

Barbara is survived by her husband, Wally McKeown of Elkton, MD; sons: William “Bill” W. McKeown, Jr. (Sandra) of Elkton, MD and Tobe McKeown (Christina) of Smyrna, DE; sister, Cynthia Figiel of Millington, MD; brother-in-law, Ed McKeown (Cheryl) of Elkton, MD; 12 grandchildren; 1 great grandson; special friends: Larry and Betty Foster of Hollansburg, OH; and several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her son, Benjamin McKeown; brother, Dennis King, and granddaughter, Christina Gsell.

A celebration of Barbara’s life will be held on Sunday, October 14, 2018 at 2:00 PM at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., 259 East Main Street, Elkton, MD 21921. Family and friends may visit beginning at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow at Elkton Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made payable to, “St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital” and sent in care of the funeral home.

Barbara I will always remember you what a kind person you were. Picked me up and took me to work a couple of times when we worked at F Schumacher and company when we worked together at that company. Will always remember your kindness and ready laugh

Wally and family sorry for your loss.

Barbara I remember the first time I met you, Wally worshiped the ground you walked on. I can see you and wally in the vet having a good old time. You were more than a sister in law , you were my sister. I remember when you and Wally went to Germany when he was in the Army. I will never forget when My Mother & Dad came to Germany to visit you, you were so kind to them. You always opened your heart to our family when someone needed support. You always treated everyone the same, with a smile and you were always there to support all of us. I remember you asking me to be Santa at your office party at Shumachers and what a time we had you laughted so hard you cried. You have always been the rock of the family during the good times and also bad but you were always there for everyone.Wally & You enjoyed so much in life traveling to Florida, and going to Ocen City with Cheryl and I & John & Dollie. Your love to my brother always showed and will never be forgotten You have joined those who have gone before you, but we will see you again . Before I close I want to say that Wally & Barb met Betty and Larry in Germany and to this day continue their friendship. We love you and miss you Barb but you will always be in our hearts. As God has said many times Well done my good and faithful servant. " you are a guardian angel"

Barbara, I remember we were both in the hospital at the same time having our babies.

Barb after 47 years not much to say .But I Love You ! We know each other vary well . Sometimes we even knew what each other were thinking.Don't worry Dear the house is Clean and everything in its place.I will try my best to keep it that way .Your the Love of my life Forever ! My sincere sympathy to your entire family. I worked with Barb many years ago at Kmart. She was a good person with a big heart.She will surely be missed.

Please send many Angels to Barbara, as she makes her most precious journey homeward. Sending you Love beyond all measure my friend. And to the family who remain behind, that they may be comforted by their Guardian Angels, and the many Earth Angels who will surround them now. Thank you.

Barbara, I became your sister-in-law 25 years ago. We shared the same birthday (but you were younger!). I always enjoyed your company, our trips to Ocean City, that trip to Berlin to the antique shops, cooking together in OC. It was all fun. I'll miss you, your laugh, your jumping up and down at certain times, your kielbasa and sauerkraut, so many things. I'll see you on the other side some day, Barb. Love you! From me and Eddie.
