Barbara Ann Grant, 69, of North East, MD passed away Friday, August 7, 2015. She was born on November 5, 1945 in Elkton, MD and was the daughter of the late, Paul Purnell and Mary Stowers Purnell.
Barbara enjoyed collecting various types of items ranging from Barbie dolls, Porcelain dolls, and Coca-Cola products. She spent her time with her beloved dog, Willie, and her many grandchildren whom she loved dearly.
Barbara is survived by her loving husband, Elwood Grant; son, Randy Grant and his wife, Stephanie of MD; daughter, Cathy Hinkle and her husband, Guy of VA; and daughter, Kelley Peden and husband, Patrick of SC. Barbara was also survived by her two brothers, Eddie Purnell and his wife, Nancy and Mark Purnell and his wife, Molly; two sisters; Carol Dale and her husband, Bill and Darlene Gum and her husband, Vance; 12 grandchildren, Ashley Hinkle, Zack Hinkle, Ashlee Grant, Hailey Thomas, Lauren Lynch, Lacey Hinkle, Alexis Grant, Aidyn Thomas, Lindsay Gregory, Steven Southern,
Shawn Peden, and Kimberly Shirley; and several nieces, nephews, and friends.
A service will be held on Friday, August 14, 2015 at 12 p.m. at R.T Foard Funeral Home, P.A, 259 E. Main Street, Elkton, MD 21921, where family and friends may visit beginning at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made payable to George Elwood Grant to help with funeral expenses and sent in care to the funeral home.
