Audrey M. Williams, age 77, of Newark, DE, passed away on Thursday, January 16, 2014. She was born July 22, 1936 in Edinburgh, Scotland to the late Alexander and Mary (Hutton) Mitchell. She is a graduate of the University of Delaware and taught at Townsend School. She volunteered at Ashland Nature Center for 30 years and at Mt. Cuba Center for several years.
She is survived by her daughter, Christine Williams; son Will Mitchell and wife Marlene Merritt of Austin, TX; sister Elizabeth Parris of Delmar, DE; and nieces Susan Lee and Joanne Santivasci.
Funeral service will be held at 11AM on Saturday, February 1, 2014 at Lower Brandywine Presbyterian Church, 101 Old Kennett Rd., Wilmington, DE 19807. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Tri-State Bird Rescue, 110 Possum Hollow Road, Newark, DE 19711.
