

Audrey Jean Wadkins, 72, of Chesapeake City, MD, passed away ay Genesis Healthcare December 25, 2014.
Born in Bradford, VT on December 10, 1942, Audrey was the daughter of the late Earnest and Nina Covey. She was a homemaker, and also worked at various stores and factories during her life. She had many interests, including crabbing and fishing, going to yard sales and auctions and growing flowers. She loved horses and Irish Setters and also was a talented poet and musician. Audrey was a woman of faith who enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and her family in Vermont.
Surviving are her husband of 56 years, William “Gene” Wadkins; five sons, William R. Wadkins and his wife Dayne, Charles Earnest Wadkins, David Allen Wadkins and his companion Penny, Michael Timothy Wadkins, and Stephen Gene Wadkins and his companion Kasey, all of Chesapeake City; 13 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and another on the way and 1 great great grandchild due any day; two brothers, Richard and Burton Covey and two sisters, Lila O’Donnell and Karel Hill, all of Vermont. She was preceded in death by her grandson, David Allen Wadkins, Jr.; 4 brothers, Donald, Merle, Lyle and Earnest Covey, 3 sisters, Shirley Bruleigh, Sandy Williams and Linda Chaffee; and a daughter-in-law, Theresa Shivery-Wadkins.
Services honoring her life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday December 30, 2014 at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., 318 George St., Chesapeake City, MD 21915 with a visitation beginning at 1:00 p.m. Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association and mailed to the funeral home.
