Arlene Theresa Bowen, age 83 of Elkton, MD passed away peacefully on Monday, January 29, 2024. She was born on July 27, 1940, in Philadelphia, PA to the late Max M. Stachowicz and Mary A. (Pepe) Stachowicz.
Theresa was a homemaker and a school bus driver in Winslow Township, NJ, for 18 years. She approached her work with dedication and a joyful spirit. Theresa found comfort in knitting, and joy in making beautiful creations. Theresa enjoyed reading; spending hours lost in the pages of her favorite books. She had a passion for horses, particularly Western riding, and enjoyed watching horse riding competitions. Her love for the Jersey Shore was evident, as she often sought the tranquility of the beach to relax and unwind. Theresa lived a simple life, and her kind heart showed in her love for her children and grandchildren, who meant the world to her.
Theresa is survived by her children: Joseph Bowen, Michelle Bowen (Peggy), and Theresa Panno; eleven grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; sisters: Marie McGuire (James), and Barbara White; and brother, Marcus Stachowicz (Kathy).
In addition to her parents, Theresa is preceded in death by her loving husband, Joseph Davey Bowen; daughter, Diane Owens; and brother, John Stachowicz.
A celebration of Theresa’s life will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, February 10, 2024, at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., 259 East Main Street, Elkton, MD 21921, where friends and family may begin visiting at 10:00 am. The burial will be private and held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Theresa’s name may be made payable to the “St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital” or “American Cancer Society” and sent in care of the funeral home.
