Archie D. Peel, 72, of Newark, DE, passed away Thursday, March 3, 2016 at his home.
Born July 13, 1943 in Wilmington, DE, Archie was the son of the late Archie L. and Mary Frances (McDaniel) Peel. Archie graduated from University of Delaware and was drafted into the National Guard where he proudly served his country during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Delaware Standard-Bred Owner’s Association and US Trotting Association. He loved animals, especially horses and was a dedicated trainer, driver, owner, and breeder of race horses for over 50 years. He also enjoyed boating and water skiing on the Elk River in his younger years. Archie was a loving brother and friend whom will be dearly missed.
Archie is survived by his three sisters, Alvira Colbert and her husband, Robert of McHenry, IL, Sandra Czerner and her husband, Richard of Butler, TN, and Cheryl Mitchell of Baton Rouge, LA. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
