Annie Marie Hogue of Rising Sun, MD, age 95, passed away Friday, July 28, 2017. She was born on September 11, 1921 in Patchogue, NY to the late William Henry Briscoe and Maggie Woods.
Annie loved to read and crochet. She would often enter write in contests, and win. Annie loved dogs of all shapes and sizes and rescued many throughout the years. She enjoyed collecting cookie jars and teapots. Annie’s greatest joy was spending time with and taking care of her family.
Annie is survived by her son, Robert L. Hogue Jr. of Rising Sun, MD; two daughters: Bj Willmann of Rising Sun, MD and Lee-Ann Dauerty of Oxford, CT; and six grandchildren: Aubry Tollenger and her husband, Jake, Taylor Willmann and his fiance, Ashly, Hugh Dauerty, Haley Dauerty, Robert L. Hogue, III, and Katlyn Hogue. In addition to her parents, Annie is preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Hogue, Sr, and her three siblings: Joseph Briscoe, Patrick Briscoe and Margaret Kargar.
A funeral service in Annie’s honor will be held at 11AM on Wednesday, August 2, 2017 at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, 111 S. Queen St., Rising Sun, MD 21911. Family and friends may begin visiting at 10AM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made payable to “American Legion #194 Honor Guard” and sent in care of the funeral home, P.O. Box 248, Rising Sun, MD 21911.
