Dear Mrs. Munyan's family, I remember Mrs. Munyan clearly. Her knowledge, her curiosity and her high standards have influenced me to this day. In fact, I am now following in her footsteps as a middle school social studies teacher! Believe me, hers are enormous footsteps and I wish she were sitting in the back, advising me. Please know that her belief in me and in all her students continues to guide us. She is a role model still. Sincerely, Jan Kleinman (Newark High Class of '78)

Back then I knew her as Mrs. Maclary in Central Middle School. She caught me smoking in the bathroom and sent me to the principal's office and I deserved it. She gained a new respect from me that day and became one of my favorite teachers in all my school years. Friendly, and always fair and she seemed to remember her students, at least she remembered me over the years with a big smile and warm heart. A wonderful person and I am honored to have known her. RIP. God bless the family.

Mrs. Maclary was one of my heroes! She made Social Studies come alive at Central Middle School, especially to this Holy Angels transfer who was not used to having "fun" at school. Her enthusiasm was infectious, her knowledge base was amazing and her kindness and keen sense of humor were unforgettable. She and Miss Weaver were my inspirations for my 20 year Social Studies career at Christiana High School! What a wonderful life she led! Gail, Eddie and Harvey-please accept my deepest sympathy at her passing.
