Anne Marie Krier, age 82, of Newark, DE passed away on Monday, November 17, 2014 at Millcroft Nursing Home surrounded by her loving family. She was born February 16, 1932 in Penticton, British Columbia, Canada, to the late Howard and Jean (Calder) Breen.
Anne was trained as a Registered Nurse and worked for various nursing homes in the area before her retirement. With a delicate hand and an artistic eye, she enjoyed doing needlepoint and was especially good at “petit point”. She loved to work in her garden where she was very fond of roses. A world traveler, Anne visited many places in Europe and even China.
She is survived by her sons, Mark Krier and wife Carolyn of Elkton, MD, and John Krier of Bear, DE; daughter Shelley Stewart and husband Tim of Elkton, MD; brother Jack Breen and wife Barbara of Nanaimo, British Columbia, Canada and grandchildren Nick, Jake, and Caitlin Krier and Sarah and Emily Stewart.
In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her brother Jim Breen.
A Celebration of Anne’s Life will be held at 3PM on Saturday, December 6, 2014 at R.T. Foard & Jones Funeral Home, Inc., 122 W. Main St., Newark DE 19711. Family and friends may visit one hour prior to the service. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contribution checks can be made to “Delaware Hospice” and sent c/o the funeral home.
