Ann L. Petty, age 77, of Rising Sun, Maryland, passed away on Tuesday, April 9, 2013. Ann was born on May 6, 1935 in Sparta, NC to the late Walter and Hattie (Andrews) Evans.
Ann enjoyed, and was very gifted, at quilting. She would spend long hours in her craft room lovingly making quilts for her daughter and other loved ones. She also enjoyed music and loved to play her favorite hymns on her piano and organ.
Ann loved the Lord and attended Mt. Carmel Primitive Baptist Church in Bel Air, Maryland.
Ann is survived by her daughter, Kathy Parker and husband Steve of Middletown, DE; brother, Louis Evans and wife June of Marion, VA; sisters, Ellen Miles of Winston-Salem, NC, Ruth Selway and husband Bill of Smyrna, DE, and Wanda Wyatt and husband Joe and Pat Dillard and husband Randy, both of Sparta, NC.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Vaughn L. Petty in 2004; brothers, Roger Evans and Clifton Wade Evans; and sister, Iva Clodfelter.
Services will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, April 15, 2013 at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., 111 S. Queen Street, Rising Sun, MD 21911 where friends and family may visit one hour prior. Burial will follow at New Bridge Baptist Cemetery in Colora, MD.
Contributions may be made to Mt. Carmel Primitive Baptist Church c/o the funeral home.
