You were a great principle at my school. I often wondered what happened to you and where you were after all these years. I will always remember your smiling face and that no student ever gave you a hard time. They had respect for you. God Bless your journey into the heavens!! B. Malgieri

Angie was the best man in our parents wedding June 2,1951 ( Anne & Bill Barbazette). We were blessed on many occasions to be in the presence of both Ruth & Angie. They would drive to visit us in MD with a trunk full of Angie's subs! One of my first thanksgivings with my boyfriend, now husband, was with Ruth and Angie in Rehoboth. On behalf of all the Barbazette children,Cathy,Mary Francis, Stephen, Brian, Anne Marie, Robert, Michelle as well as our extended family and of course our parents Anne & Bill, we offer sincere condolences to the Cataldi Family. Angie's big heart, hearty hugs and boisterous laugh will be in our hearts forever! Xo, Anne Marie and Kevin Byrnes

My parents (Jake & Annabelle Pickel) played golf with Angie & Ruth for many years at Cavaliers Country Club. I have three sisters and we often saw Angie & Ruth at many parties and events. They were a wonderful couple and we all enjoyed their company.

On behalf of the Tulley family, I would like to express our condolences to all of Angie's family. I have had the good fortune of seeing and talking to Angie a few times over the past couple of years at the NSC with his niece, Connie. I can't tell you how often over the years, my brothers and I - and other older Newark residents - have recalled the sub shop on Wilbur Street. Best there ever was. Thank you for your service to our country, Angie, and for being everyone's friend. Mary Tulley Spittel

As my athletic instructor, already, a brief xixty-three years ago, though never again being with Mr. Cataldi, he has remained of a most positive influence these intercedeing years. Only briefly mentioning his combat wound, a gashing depression below his shoulder, his youthful training and active service assurred us we each would learn the rudiments of self defense-boxing and jui-juitso gym class. Most positive in greeting each day, he had a personal interest in each student and for their future welfare. Quiet of his past military service,he now joins those thousands each day who fought our unified fight in the Pacific and European theaters and now pass in final review. God Bless Charlie Weymouth

Angie, the man with a sweet smile and a kind heart. We enjoyed visiting his sub shop, not only for his delicious subs, but to visit with my aunt Stella who worked with Angie for as long as I can remember. Thanks Angie, for being a constant in our Newark community. You will be missed by many.

I have many fond memories of Mr. Cataldi. Not only was he a great educator and principal, but a very good friend to his students. I would go to the sub shop whenever I had a chance.

Mr. Cataldi was Vice-Principal at Thomas McKean High School where I graduated in 1971. There are so many good memories of his dedication to teaching and how he befriended all of the students that came in contact with him. He was tough, but he cared so much for all of us. I learned a lot from his examples and I raised my children with the same ideals that he exhibited each and every day. He was a good, good man and I offer my deepest sypmpathy to his family. God bless him.

Mr. C was my Vice Principal at Brandywine Springs Jr.High and McKean High School... I have to many memories to list here... but I remember him referring to all of us as his "boys and girls", and the feared paddle that was always prominently displayed in his office - although I NEVER heard of him having to use it on any of us!! His voice was gruff, but his heart and laugh was huge... and he excelled at bringing out the best in all of us! Rest in Peace, Mr. Cataldi... I always smile when I think of you, and it's good to know I have another angel looking out for me....

I well remember Angie: for being a great referee, having the sub shop-- the only place to have a good sub when I was growing up, for always being friendly and having a smile. Many years ago Angie's had a little dining room and my family used to have dinner there. My mother made pretty good spaghetti sauce but many times would buy sauce from Angie's. He will be missed by so many people for all that he did and all that he was. Love and God's blessings to the family, Sally

We met "Angie" as he told us to call him, when we would walk with our special needs son (Benjamin) past his house many times every week. He always had a big hug for Mary, and a special hello for Benjamin, with a very hearty "Hi" for Mike. Angie toild us many stories about his past, and we were especially greatful for the service and dedication he gave to our country during WWII. We will miss our very frequent visits with Angie, as stopping and talking with him was always a bright stop on our walk. He was a very nice man, and will be in our memory forwever, Michal, Mary, and Benjamin Hoppe 103 Old Oak Road
