Andrew Charles Klenk, age 67, of Waldorf, Maryland, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 6, 2023. He was born on February 26, 1956 in Boston, Massachusetts to the late John Louis Klenk and Nancy Desideria Klenk (Congdon).
Andrew’s generous heart, contagious laugh, and fierce loyalty touched everyone who knew him. He was devoted to his family, a loving caregiver, and a trusted friend, always putting others before himself.
Andrew was a diehard Detroit Lions fan and enjoyed road cycling, chocolate desserts, Lord of the Rings books, and all manner of movie marathons. A kid at heart, he especially loved Disney, Pixar and Marvel movies, and would light up talking about his favorite characters and doing spot-on voice impressions.
Growing up in a military family, Andrew lived in Arlington, Virginia, Galveston, Texas, Miami, Florida, Kailua, Hawaii, and Camp Springs, Maryland, before settling in Herndon, Virginia and then Waldorf. A lifelong jack-of-all-trades, he worked in varied roles throughout his career and found new skills and interests in each one.
Andrew is survived by his children: John Walter Klenk and Sarah Hoeffel; siblings: Stephen Klenk (Carole), Thomas Klenk (Deborah), Mark Klenk (Christina), and Carolyn Klenk-Grove; and many beloved nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his “adopted” family: Sherrie, Tammie, James, Dakota, and Rebecca.
Services for Andrew will be held privately in Waldorf. To send online condolences, please visit www.rtfoard.com.
