Amy was a lifelong resident of Newark, DE, until moving to West Grove to live with her daughter and her family. She was a 1958 graduate of the University of Delaware. While raising her young family, she frequently worked as a substitute teacher in the Newark School District. She went on to teach for several years at Mount Aviat Academy in Childs, MD, before ending her career in education at Caravel Academy. She was an avid fan of Blue Hen football, first attending games at Fraser Field as a youngster atop her older brother’s shoulders and as a season ticket holder from the time Delaware Stadium was built. A talented seamstress, Amy enjoyed sewing, knitting, and a variety of other crafting activities. She had a great love of books, as evidenced by the impressive library she leaves behind, frequently reading a novel in a single sitting. Amy cherished her time spent with her children and grandchildren, and most recently, meeting her new great grandson. She will be remembered as a kind and loving person by her large circle of friends.
Amy is survived by three sons: Otto Fad and his wife, Kelly, of Lakeland, FL, Scott Fad of Landenberg, PA, and Chris Fad and his wife, Annette, of Newark, DE; daughter, Kathi Diaz and husband, Edwin, of West Grove, PA; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Paul D. Lovett Jr., and sister, Jane Ann “Rocky” Davis.
