Alvin Kent Westfall, age 78, of west Grove, PA, passed away on Saturday, August 13, 2016 at Twin Pines HealthCare Center. He was born March 7, 1938, in Buckhannon, WV to the late Charles Ray and Lois Talbot Westfall.
A 1957 graduate of Buckhannon Upshur High School, Ken served his country in the Army National Guard until 1963. He worked as a grocery clerk at various food stores, in the Philadelphia area, including Penn Fruit, and Pantry Pride. He was a member of the United Food and Commercial Workers Union. Raised in the Southern Baptist Church, he enjoyed reading and studying the Bible, and was very strong in his Faith. In his spare time, he took up sculpting, at which he was very good and collected coins, stamps, and antique pocket watches.
He is survived by his daughters, Deidre Frawley, and her husband, Joe, of Mt. Laurel, NJ, and Melissa Cassidy, and her husband, Joe, of Oxford, PA; brothers, James Warren Westfall, of SC, David Westfall, and his wife, Karen, of LA, Charles Steven Westfall, and his wife, Ann, of WA; sisters, Doris Jean Hones, of NJ, Helen Reed, and her husband, Robert, of WV, and Karen Conner, and her husband, Larry, of OH; six grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews, and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by two brothers and three sisters.
