Alma was a member of Christiana United Methodist Church where she served as pianist, organist, choir member, lay speaker, and Sunday school teacher.
Music was always a part of Alma’s life. She began studying piano at the age of four and was soon an accomplished pianist. Throughout her high school years she accompanied the chorus, orchestra, and other musical programs in her school and she played with a dance band at a local summer resort. The local radio stations shared her musical skills on three weekly radio programs, accompanying soloists and directing a weekly talent program for area children.
Alma’s love of music and the Lord led her and some of her friends to form the music group “Submission,” where they spent over 35 years playing piano and singing at churches, nursing homes, prisons, and even a few local TV programs in DE, MD, NJ, and PA.
For the last several years she continued sharing her musical talents as a pianist at the weekly worship services at Regal Heights where she was a resident.
