Allen Jamie Whitt, Jr., 28, of Colora, MD, passed away suddenly Wednesday, January 1, 2014.
Born May 10, 1985 in Baltimore, MD, Allen was the beloved son of Donna F. Cornett-Hammond of Edgewood, MD and Allen J. Whitt, Sr. of Colorado Springs, CO. Allen was a certified welder and iron worker for North Bay Industrial Services in Colora, MD. He cherished music of all genres and was an accomplished and talented musician who was the creator and member of the band, Questionable Character. Allen treasured his family, especially his son, AJ, and was the proudest and best father a child could ask for. He had a huge heart, helping his family and friends in any way he could. Allen was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
Allen is survived by his son, Allen Jamie Whitt, III; beloved companion, Ciera Hensley; mother, Donna F. Cornett-Hammond; father, Allen J. Whitt, Sr. and his wife, Della; stepfather, Tim Taylor and his wife, Rosinda; sister, Melinda Whitt of Charleston, SC; stepsisters, Dianne Taylor and Mia Mays of Colora, MD, Justine and Jennifer Miyamoto of Colorado; stepbrothers, Bryan Taylor, Seth, Cody, and Austin Gerhart of Colora, MD and Kelly Miyamoto of Colorado; grandparents, Frances E. Yarber and her husband, Jim, Joanne Osborne, James F. Taylor and his wife, Patricia Wagner of Rising Sun, MD and Emery B. Cornett of Vilas, NC; and several Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, and his much-loved kittens, Prudence and Bagheera. Allen was preceded in death by his grandfather, Edward B. Yarber, Sr.; stepsister, Randi I. Taylor and stepbrother, Michael Miyamoto.
Visitations will be held from 6-8 PM Friday, January 10, 2014 and from 10-11AM Saturday, January 11, 2014 at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, 111 S. Queen St., Rising Sun, MD 21911. A celebration of Allen’s life will be held at 11 AM Saturday, January 11, 2014 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at West Nottingham Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made payable to the Allen Jamie Whitt, III Trust Fund and sent in care to the funeral home.
