Alice Edith Brill, age 91, of Rising Sun, MD, passed away on Thursday, March 19, 2015 at Calvert Manor Nursing Home. She was born on August 22, 1923, in Independence, VA to the late James A. and Effie Cleo (Cline) Isom.
She had a long and fulfilling life as a mother, grandmother, great and great-great grandmother. She was seamstress, loved gardening and collecting pigs. She was a member of the Rising Sun Church of God. She had a kind and loving heart, loved by all who knew her, most referring to her as “Grannie”. She was admired for her integrity and strong Christian faith, always standing firm, courageous and strong. Believing that faith is to believe what we do not see and the ultimate reward is to receive what you’ve always believed.
She is survived by her son, Donald Brill, and his wife, Carol, of East Earl, PA; daughter, Delilah Truslow and her husband Robert of Colora, MD; seven grandchildren, Debbie Yale, Wanda Willard, Walt Ragan, Dean Ragan, Bobby Truslow, Donnie Brill, and Jessica Brill; 13 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her son, Frederick Hastings.
A service will be held at 8PM on Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, PA, 111 S. Queen St., Rising Sun, MD 21911. Family and friends may visit two hours prior beginning at 6PM. Graveside services will be held Friday, March 27, 2015 at Pilgrim’s Rest Cemetery in her hometown of Independence, VA.
