As a child my parents, James and Frances Pugh, would take me to Campbells Corner and Sunset Park every Sunday. My Dad and Alex went fishing together. I remember even into my teens going to the "park" and seeing Alex and Olabelle. Many, many memories of Alex come to mind. May he rest in peace.

Hello to any of the Campbell family. I remember Alex and Olabelle from when I was a little girl. Alex drove me to the store one day when I got mixed up about where mother had told me to walk to Campbell's store and get evaporated milk. . I walked to the bar instead. Alex was there and Olabelle told him to drive me to the store. He was so nice. I remember his sister Ida too . Such a beautiful girl. and Mary Owen, whom I don't remember how she was related to them. A wonderful down home country people..... Bought my dad a banjo from the store in Oxford. Alex knew my dad and helped me pick it out. So sad about Alex, but he had a wonderful life and did a lot of good in the world...........

I have so many great memories of Sunset Park that Alec and his family are a part of. I used to sit in the record stand with my cousin Vicki Brown and Alecs Son Rob who worked the stand at that time. Thanks for the memories! RIP.

I too have many memories of this man and his family. My family spent many, many Sundays at Sunset Park. The older members of my family spent time at New River Ranch also. I have heard of Alex, Ola Belle, Bud, David and Rob ever since I was a young girl! I worked at Sunset Park when I was in my teens and I still remember Alex and David picking me up in a bob truck he had, full of merchandise to be sold at the Park. I worked the record stand then and Alex had a tremendous sense of humor. He could make you laugh about anything. He will be missed by many. Condolences to his family and may God give comfort to each of you in your time of loss.

Bill Moffett left a message on October 26, 2013:
In late 1999, when I started my country music program at WCOJ, Coatesville, I needed a name for the program. I wanted to pay tribute to Alex who had been at the station years before. His program had been Campbell's Corner. So the name Country Corner naturally came up. We went with that. I met Alex twice while visiting his sister Ola Belle in Rising Sun. With Ola Belle's husband Bud Reed and son David present, naturally we did some music. After a stroke, Alex could not sing very well, but he did join in tapping his foot as did Ola Belle. Wonderful time.
