Alan Lee Oakes, age 32, of Elkton, MD passed away on Friday, July 26, 2019. He was born on March 27, 1987 to Robert Calvert Oakes and Deborah Ann (Saunders) Oakes.

Alan graduated from Elkton High School in 2005 before launching into a construction job. He was a handyman and helped others repair their homes. He would paint homes, fix windows, and he even replaced a garage. He enjoyed fishing and crabbing. Alan loved his family, especially his children.

Alan is survived by his parents: Deborah and Robert Oakes; children: Malik Thompson, Devon Oakes, Alan Oakes, Jemma Oakes, and Blake Oakes; brothers: Karl Kapser, Robert Oakes, and Michael Oakes; grandfather, Robert Oakes and his wife, Kate; step- grandfather, William Clough; and his grandmother, Bessie Saunders.

Alan was preceded in death by his grandfather, Lloyd Saunders and grandmother, Marie Oakes.

A celebration of Alan’s life will be held on Saturday, August 3, 2019 at 7:00 PM at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., 259 East Main Street, Elkton, MD 21921 where family and friends may attend a viewing at 6:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made payable to “Deborah Oakes” to help pay for funeral expenses.
