William Robert Reid, age 67, of North East, Maryland, passed away on January 11, 2026. Born on May 22, 1958, in Baltimore City, Maryland, he was the son of the late Charles Robert Reid and Margaret Geraldine (née Nuedling) Reid, and the devoted husband of 33 years to Jodi Elizabeth (née DeCillis) Reid.
Bill was a lifelong learner with a deep appreciation for both science and the law. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Loyola College, his Master’s of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Virginia, and his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Baltimore. He went on to enjoy a distinguished career as a Patent Attorney, practicing for 15 years with Dilworth Intellectual Properties, LLC, where he was respected for his intellect, integrity, and dedication to his clients.
Outside of his professional life, Bill found joy in creating and preserving memories. He was an avid woodworker who crafted beautiful and enduring pieces of furniture—including end tables, curio cabinets, and a carving board so solid that his wife Jodi still jokes she can’t lift it. These treasured items remain lasting reminders of his talent and love for his family. He also enjoyed running and playing tennis, staying active throughout his life.
Bill had a passion for photography and was rarely without a camera in hand. He loved capturing moments at his daughters’ soccer games and family gatherings, especially during holidays. Through his photographs, he preserved countless memories that his family will cherish for years to come.
Above all else, Bill was a devoted father. As a dedicated “soccer dad,” he was his daughters’ biggest fan, always present and cheering them on. He was known for his great sense of humor, which he lovingly channeled into stories affectionately referred to by the family as “Willie Stories.” Kind, selfless, and generous with both his time and heart, Bill would do anything for those he loved. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his sister, Patricia Coster.
He is survived by his loving wife, Jodi Reid; his cherished daughters, Teresa and Rosa Reid; his sisters, Sharon Reid and Cathy Mattern and her husband Scott; as well as numerous extended family members and friends.
A service will be held on Monday, January 19, 2026 at 12:00 PM at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, 111 South Queen Street, Rising Sun, Maryland. The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow in West Nottingham Cemetery.
