Virginia Neal Miller of Colora, MD, age 68, passed away Tuesday, October 3, 2017. She was born on June 6, 1949 in Baltimore, MD to the late William Claude Covan and Evelyn (Neal) Covan.

Virginia was a graduate of Western High School and Essex Community College Nursing program. She worked as a nurse all her life, retiring from Perry Point VA hospital after serving 20 plus years. She was a beloved member and Queen Mother of The Red Hat Ladies.

Virginia is survived by her sister, Dotty Barrett and her husband, Butch; niece, Robin Standfield and her husband, Glen; nephew, William Meyers and his wife, Ginger; three nieces: Kathryn Barron; Belinda Gonzalez and her husband, Juan; J’Aime Keeney and her significant other, Valentin: six great nephews, Bryan Meyers, Jaimie Aguirre, Isaiah Gonzalez, Ismael Torres, Ricardo Torres, Javier Gonzalez; six great nieces, Lyndsi Dodson, Mikaela Aguirre, Gabriela Barron, Alejandra Torres, Thalia Torres, Adriana Torres; great-great nephew, Dadrian Scriber; and great-great niece Isabella Aguirre.

In addition to her parents, Virginia is preceded in death by her husband, John “Richard” Miller; sister, Kathryn Duman; and brother, William Covan.

A celebration of Virginia’s life will be held at 4PM on Thursday, October 12, 2017 at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, 111 S. Queen St., Rising Sun, MD 21911. Family and friends may begin visiting at 2 PM.
