A lot of times you will see siblings who dont get along with one another or dont want to be apart of the others lives, but that wasnt the case with my siblings and I; we loved each other and never considered ourselves half siblings. Now could Troy tease and aggravate me till I was running to our dad and my mom crying when I was little haha course that is what big brothers do. One time in particular I remember, when I was heading to Virgina to compete in my first Pony Club Nationals with my little horse, I was scared to death because that is almost like the Olympics for Pony Club; I remember my brother writing a letter to me of encouragement and he also put drawings all over it as well, from cartoon horses to make me laugh, to other beautiful horse sketches. That was my brother, he had a very caring soul no matter what was happening in his life. He was the nicest guy you would ever meet, and could a smile on peoples faces. I have and always will love my brother Troy and will miss him.

I went to North East High School with Troy, he always had a smile on his face and was a jokester. Sometimes at lunch I just remember cracking up and some the things he would do or say, all in good fun. He was truly a unique person and will be missed. Randall D. Lofland left a message on December 16, 2013:
I served with Troy at the Elkton Armory, DET 1, HHC 2/115th. It was 20 years ago. I was the DET 1 Readiness NCO. He was in his early 20's at the time and he was a good, decent man. He was a fine medic. We usually talked about music, he was a big fan of The Cure and he often kept me up to date on other bands and songs we liked. Although I haven't seen him since 1991, I clearly remember him as being very well liked and eyes full of life and mischief. When someone you served with in the military passes, a part of you goes with them. In my mind, Troy's passing is way too soon for such a good man. I am so sorry for your loss. My heart breaks with yours. With Deepest Sympathies, Randall D. Lofland Midlothian, Virginia
