Tracy L. Simpson, 50, of Newark, DE passed away on January 7, 2016 at St. Francis Hospital in Wilmington, DE after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born on November 29, 1965 in Kingston, NY. Tracy was the daughter of Leon W. and Adeline LeBreton. She was a graduate of University of Delaware, class of 1987. She retired as a police office of the Newark City Police Department. As a police officer, Tracy was awarded with recognition for saving the life of a small child. She was also a thoroughbred racehorse trainer at Delaware Park Race Track.
Tracy enjoyed traveling with her husband via cruise ships, motorcycles and automobile visiting many different areas. She enjoyed going to watch the Phillies play baseball on many occasions; as well as bicycling and spending time with her pet Doberman “Colonel”.
Tracy is survived by her husband: Charles R. Simpson of Newark, DE; step daughter: Melissa Woody of Farmington, NY; 2 step granddaughters: Madison Woody and Kendall Markgraf of Farmington, NY; mother: Adeline LeBreton; brother: Leon E. LeBreton and his wife, Maribeth of Lancaster, PA; brother-in-law: Phillip Simpson of Louisville, KY and 2 nieces: Amanda and Emily LeBreton of Lancaster, PA.
She was precedent in death by her father: Leon W. LeBreton.
A life celebration service will be held on Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at 11am at the St. Marks United Methodist Church where family and friends may visit 1 hour prior.
A visitation will be held Thursday, January 14, 2016 at the Cowherd – Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S. Main St., Greensburg, KY from 9-11am. Burial to follow in the Judd Cemetery in Greensburg, KY.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made payable to “Delaware Hospice” and sent in care of R.T. Foard & Jones, Inc., 122 W. Main St., Newark, DE 19711.
