Timothy Alan Ward, age 53, of Elkton, Maryland, departed this world on May 5, 2024. Born in Elkton, Maryland, on September 30, 1970, Tim was the cherished son of James E. Ward and the late Fleecie Ward (nee, Mahala). He was the beloved husband of Tonya M. Ward, a union that brought joy and companionship throughout their life together.
Tim’s journey began at North East High School, where he graduated with the Class of 1988. His career began at Delaware Technical Community College, earning an associate’s degree while working as an Automotive Service Technician at Martin Oldsmobile, where he honed his skills and craftsmanship. Continuing his journey, he transitioned to Chrysler Corporation where he earned his Journeyman’s license as a Skilled Millwright, showcasing his expertise and dedication in every endeavor.
A man of many passions, Tim’s heart beat loudest for antique classic cars and Hot Rods. Whether he was meticulously restoring a vintage AMC, Ford, or Jeep vehicle, or embracing the thrill of drag racing, his enthusiasm was infectious. A familiar face at local car shows, he shared his knowledge and admiration for automotive craftsmanship with fellow enthusiasts.
Beyond the realm of engines and horsepower, Tim found solace in the tranquility of the Appalachian Mountains, where his family cabin is nestled among the trees of North Carolina. There, amidst the beauty of nature, he found peace and serenity, a sanctuary from the bustling world.
Family was the cornerstone of Tim’s life, and his devotion knew no bounds. He leaves behind cherished memories for his wife, Tonya M. Ward, and his children: Ryan A. Ward, Miranda N. Ward, and SkylarJ. O. Ward. In the embrace of grief, they find strength in the love that binds them together.
Timothy is preceded in death by his mother Fleecie Ward, and his brother, Keith R. Ward (Jeanna). He is survived by his brother, Edward R. Ward (Delena), sister Jo Evelyn Marlow (Ronnie), beloved pup Merle, and a multitude of extended family members, each touched by his warmth and kindness.
While we mourn Tim’s passing, we also celebrate the vibrant life he lived. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date, with due notice provided.
