Theresa V. Stockton of Newark, DE, age 88, passed away Wednesday, April 29, 2020. Theresa was born on May 5, 1931 in Brooklyn, New York to the late Joseph Vanicola and Josephine (Toro) Jefferson.
Theresa worked as a nurse’s aid at Little Sisters of the Poor for 15 years. She liked to read and loved her grandchildren.
Theresa is survived by her daughter, Jean Newman and her husband, Mark; 8 grandchildren: Lindsey, Samantha, Matthew, Wayne Jr., Charles Jr., Johnathan, Chris Jr., Andrew; and 10 beautiful great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Theresa is preceded in death by her husband, Kyle Stockton; daughter, Josephine Merward; son, Wayne Day; son, Christopher Day and grandson, James Day.
Services for Theresa will be held privately and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to “St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital” and can be sent in care of the R.T. Foard & Jones Funeral Home, 122 W. Main Street, Newark, DE 19711.
