Sylvia Ann Stout age 87 of Newark, DE passed away on Thursday July 29, 2021. She was born on February 8, 1934 in Ottumwa Iowa to the late Maurice and Mary (Logan) Field. Sylvia had lived in Newark since 1941. She was a graduate of Newark high school and University of Delaware. Sylvia was a home economics teacher before she and Ed started their family.

Sylvia was a kind, fun, happy person who had the most positive outlook on life. Her hobbies were sewing, making porcelain dolls, she loved her family genealogy and made the best cupcakes. We ask that you remember her as a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, friend and as an incredible kind, generous, woman of faith.

Sylvia was a member of St Johns/Holy Angels parish.

Sylvia is survived by her children Stephen Stout, Maureen Stout Dominelli, Andrew Stout (Kewai), 10 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and one more on the way, her 2 brothers and many nieces and nephews.

Sylvia was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years Edmond B. Stout, her parents Maurice and Mary Field, her sister Sue Jane Wilson and her granddaughter Breanne Stout.

A celebration of Sylvia Ann Stout’s life will be held at 11:00 am Friday August 6, 2021 at R.T. Foard & Jones Funeral Home, 122 West Main Street, Newark, DE 19711. Family and friends may begin visiting on Friday at 10:00am. Internment to follow at All Saints Cemetery, 6006 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington, DE 19808.
