Sarah Morton, a gentle and good hearted young woman, passed from this life Monday, November 16, 2015. Sarah was that rare human being who accepted everyone on their own terms, who had extraordinary respect and kindness for all. She was 29. Sarah is survived by her loving parents, Jane Kavanagh Morton and Jeff Morton, as well as her beloved brother and best friend, Philip. Sarah loved animals of all kinds and is survived by her Yorkie Zyekies, and her cat Kellie. Sarah enjoyed a special relationship with her grandparents, Jack and Betty Kavanagh of Ocean City, MD, with whom she maintained a weekly correspondence over many years. She was beloved by many aunts, uncles and cousins, as well as friends and associates and anyone who ever met her and was struck by her kind spirit. She is also survived by her Step Grandmother, Caroline Morton. Sarah was predeceased by her paternal grandparents, Phil and Barbara Morton.
Sarah showed exceptional ability as a scholar athlete throughout her high school years and then went on to study art at Stevenson University in Maryland. She graduated from there and worked in computer graphics for several years in Baltimore before returning to Newark to work in the family business, Alma Company. Until her death Sarah worked and enjoyed meeting clients and handling phone calls and keeping the office organized, a talent she honed all of her life.
Sarah will be missed by so many people, from many walks of life, of all ages. She was a friend to all she met.
A Visitation will be held Friday, November 20, 2015 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at R. T. Foard and Jones Funeral Home, 122 West Main Street, Newark, DE 19711. Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
