Sandy was a Licensed Practical Nurse at Calvert Nursing Home and loved helping people. She will be remembered as a kind and calm person and could never say “no” to anyone. Sandy especially loved her grandkids. She loved going to the library, reading Danielle Steele books, doing puzzles and cross stitching.

Sandy is survived by her companion, Douglas Varner of Oxford, PA; son, Steven L. Snyder and his wife Jamie of Rising Sun, MD; sister, Donna Meehan of Aston, PA; 5 grandchildren: Adam, Dacota, Steven Jr., Spencer, and Dixie. In addition to her parents, Sandy is preceded in death by her son, Greg Allen Snyder.

A graveside service for Sandy will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, August 31, 2020 at Brookview Cemetery, 125 Hopewell Road, Rising Sun, MD 21911. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to “COPD Foundation” and sent in care of R.T. Foard Funeral Home, PO Box 248, Rising Sun, MD 21911.

Sandy was a good friend who made me feel welcome and right at home when I moved here from PA. She spoke of her children and grandchildren often and you could see how much she loved them. Not forgetting Doug whom she also loved very much. Finally there was Chippie. That little dog brought her so much joy! One of my favorite memories of Sandy was her telling me the story of how she would stop on Mt Zoar road late at night when coming home from work and often feed and talk to the many deer that would be gathered in the road.
