








Ruth C. Delp, age 79, of Rising Sun, MD, passed away on Monday, December 21, 2015 at Calvert Manor Health Care Center in Rising Sun, MD. She was born on July 3, 1936 in Havre de Grace, MD, to the late Norval Millard and Olive Virginia Garvin Coale.
Ruth worked at H.E. Shallcross & Sons before going to work at the Sun Pharmacy where she served for twenty plus years. She was involved in many community organizations and activities, including Girl Scouts of America, Rising Sun Little League, where she was one of the coaches of the first girls that were allowed to play. She also was a member of International Order of Jobs Daughters, and the Order of Eastern Star, Darlington Chapter #105.
In her spare time, she enjoyed playing golf at Chantilly Manor, where she held the distinction of being club champion for several years.
A woman of great faith, Ruth was a longtime member of Janes United Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir, taught Sunday school, and served on various committees. She loved music and singing, and she was known to put a smile on the face of all who met her, and will miss her.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Howard F. Delp; daughters, Deborah Kubala and her husband, Alex, of Rising Sun, MD, Vickie Mink and her husband, Muncy, of Elkton, MD, and Christine Killough, and her husband, Brian, of Rising Sun, MD; daughter-in-law, Diana Delp, of Rising Sun, MD; 9 grandchildren, Niki McCoy, Andrew Kubala, A.J. Kubala, Preston Greer, Howard F. Delp III, Morgan Killough, Justin Killough, Lee Mink, and Darrick Mink; ten great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son, Howard F. Delp, Jr., a granddaughter, Jacki Killough, three brothers, Harvey Coale, Jack Coale, and Norval “Buddy” Coale, and two sisters, Hazel Lewis, and Harriet Rea.
Funeral service will be held 11AM on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at Janes United Methodist Church, 213 Walnut Street, Rising Sun, MD 21911, where friends may call one hour prior. Friends and family may visit Monday, December 28, 2015 from 6-8 PM at R. T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., 111 South Queen Street, Rising Sun, MD 21911. Burial will follow at Brookview Cemetery in Rising Sun, MD. In lieu of flowers, memorial contribution checks can be made to “Janes United Methodist Church” and sent c/o the funeral home.
