Ruth Ann Cox, age 65 of Darlington, MD passed away on June 20, 2017. She was born on January 19, 1952 in Wilmington, DE, the adopted daughter of the late George Olden Billings and Hilda Ruth (Cregger) Billings. The birth daughter of Elizabeth (Betty) Jones, Bel Air, MD.
After high school, Ruth worked in management retail. She was a proud member of the Darlington Fire Company and Darlington Lions Club where she was honored with many awards. Ruth was dedicated to giving back to her community and was awarded the 2017 Jim Warner Award for her humanitarian services to the community.
Ruth is survived by her companion, Shorty Billings of Whiteford, MD; son, Timothy Allen Gross, Sr. and his wife, Jennylyn of Havre de Grace, MD; daughter, Tina Marie Billings of Whiteford, MD; sisters: Terry Lynn Billings and her fiancé , Duane Knight of Middle River, MD and Donna Lee Eckelt and her husband, James of Cape Coral, FL; grandchildren: Domonique Paris MacKenzie, Taylor Elizabeth Gross, and Timothy Allen Gross, Jr.; great granddaughter, Scarlet Rose Waters; six brothers; and one sister.
Services for Ruth will be held at a later date. Please check back to view the service information. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made payable to the, “Darlington Fire Company” or “Darlington Lions Club” and sent in care of R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., P.O. Box 248, Rising Sun, MD 21911.

I have known Ruthann my whole life her father George was my uncle she was a wonderful woman and I loved her very much her daughter Tina Marie was my flower girl at my wedding I lost touch with them when we moved away but I always got to see Ruthann when ever we came to mad for visits and I could always expect to get a Christmas card from her she sent me one every year even tho I never sent any back I hope she knows that I always appreciated it and the fact she remembered me ! I will mis you Ruthann I love you!
