Rudolph “Skip” S. Johnson, Jr., of Middletown, DE, age 84 passed away on Thursday, September 12, 2019. He was born on July 11, 1935 in Wilmington, DE to the late Rudolph S. Johnson, Sr. and Gladys Marie (Campbell) Foraker.
A hard worker, Skip spent his over 30 year career with Imperial Chemical Industries working as a chemical engineer and later as a forklift driver until his retirement in 1995. He was a member of Newark United Methodist Church and volunteered there for several years. Skip enjoyed going to the beach with his family and taking vacations to Hawaii with his wife. He loved to eat and would often go out to eat at various restaurants with his family. Skip’s greatest joy was in spending time with his grandchildren.
Skip is survived by his daughter, Shirley Marsh and her husband, William “Bill” Marsh, Jr.; son, Bruce “Bo” Anthony Johnson; five grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and two sisters: Rosemary Hasher and Genevieve Kessler. In addition to his parents, Skip was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Shirley Johnson; daughter, Donna Marie Johnson; and son, David Michael Johnson.
Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
