Roland G. Stanley, 70, of Elkton, MD, passed away May 5, 2015 at Union Hospital.
Born in Havre de Grace,, MD on September 16, 1944, Roland was the son of the late Joe and Lydia Castelow Stanley. He was known in the area as a talented handyman.
He is survived by two brothers, Edward Anthony and wife Maggie, and John A. Stanley and his wife Debbie; three sisters, Chloe M. (Marie) VanDyke and husband Jim, Lydia Klukewicz, and JoAnn Birney; a special niece, Dorothy Klukewicz and his long time companion of 15 years, Mary Martinuk.
A graveside service will be held at North East Methodist Cemetery on Thursday May 14, 2015 at 11:00 a.m.

I Just wanted to tell you all the fond childhood memories I have of Uncle Roland. He used to stop by and visit at all hours of the day and night. Sometimes he'd stay the night - sometimes just eat and move on. My heartfelt prayers go out to Rolands family. I've known Roland all my life. We grew up in the same neighborhood.on Appleton Rd. And then my mom (Esther Nester) were living in the same apartment complex in Northeast, Md. ELk River Manor Apts. She is 91 yrs old and he helped her with all sorts of things which helped her to be able to live on her apt. He also helped many other widowed ladies there. He had the kindest, giving heart of anyone I ever knew. God says, as you do unto these it is the same as you do unto me. May you rest in peace, Roland. We will miss you at River Manor. See you in heaven.
