Robert “Bob” Sherwood Hill, Jr., age 66, of Rising Sun, MD, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 23, 2026. He was born on December 31, 1959 in Mount Holly, NJ to the late Robert Sherwood, Sr., and Audrey (Williams) Kulick.
Bob had a true passion for thoroughbred horse racing and could often be found enjoying the excitement of the track or playing video poker at Delaware Park, where he spent many enjoyable hours. He also had a deep love for animals and the outdoors, taking great pride in caring for his home and yard. His lawn was a point of pride—meticulously maintained and often mowed in a neat, checkered pattern that reflected his attention to detail.
A talented cook, Bob especially loved grilling and watching Food Network. His smoked ribs and turkey were favorites at gatherings, bringing everyone together around the table to share in good food and even better company. He cherished time spent with his loved ones, particularly during family vacations to Virginia Beach and the Outer Banks, where lasting memories were made year after year.
Above all, Bob was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend whose greatest joy came from being with his family. Bob will be remembered for his kindness, his dedication to his family, loyal friendships, and the pride he took in everything he did—from his perfectly striped lawn to the meals he lovingly prepared. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
Bob is survived by his wife, Lori; daughters: Laura Newberry (Brandon), Emily Hill (Justice), and Katie Kondrad (Mike); grandchildren: Harlem, Shermar, Jr., Olivia, Skai, and Emerson; mother, Audrey Kulick; sister, Paula Fahey (Mark); and aunt and uncle, Louise and Raymond Stevens, Sr. In addition to his father, Bob is preceded in death by his grandparents, Muriel and Fred Williams, and his beloved stepfather and best friend, William Kulick.
A celebration of Bob’s life will be held on Thursday, April 9, 2026 at 11AM at R.T.
