Robert “Bob” Duane Kennard, age 85, of Rising Sun, MD passed away on October 21, 2018. Bob was born in Rising Sun, MD on August 5, 1933 to Francis M. Kennard, Sr. and Elsie M. Kennard.

In his teens, Bob worked for his family business, Cecil County Milling Company. He graduated from West Nottingham Academy in 1951 and attended college at Duke University and John Hopkins University finishing in 1969 with a Master’s degree in business.

Bob served two years in the US Army with the Military Police. He then worked for the State of Delaware as a Computer Systems Analyst creating computer software. Bob was a member of the American Legion Post 194, Knights of Columbus and the Chesapeake Bay Golf Club. Bob had a group of friends that traveled all over the country playing golf, even to Japan. He spent years of weekends helping his father at Cecil Mobile Home Sales in Conowingo.

Bob also coached Little League in Elkton for several years. He enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Marylou Kennard of Rising Sun, MD; daughter, Laura A. Sadowski and husband Frank of Portland, OR; sons, Stephen D. Kennard and wife Mary of Elkton, MD, Jeffrey S. Kennard of Rising Sun, MD. and Thomas A. Kennard and wife Virginia of Bothell, WA.; brother, Francis M. Kennard, Jr. and wife Marie of Elkhart, IN; grandchildren, Keith Sadowski, Alison Sadowski, Craig Sadowski, Rachel Kennard, Emily Kennard, Meghan Kennard, Jeffrey Kennard, Jr., Jacque Kennard, Tyler Kennard and Colin Kennard; 13 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Bob and his wife spent many years caring for and enjoying foster children in their life.
