Robert B. Banks, Jr., age 66 of Middletown, DE passed away on June 27, 2017. He was born on April 25, 1951 in Elkton, MD to Mary A. Banks and the late Robert B. Banks, Sr.
Robert graduated from Bohemia Manor High School in 1969. In his early years, he worked at Shaffer’s in Chesapeake City, MD from 1965-1969. He was later employed by Eastern Shore Concrete Pipe Company as a welder and foreman in Bear, DE from 1970-1989. Robert owned Earlville Market in Earlville from 1990-1992. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Chesapeake City, MD. He loved traveling to Aruba and taking trips to Disney World with his family. Robert loved his three granddaughters, classic rock, gardening, and all things history.
Robert is survived by his wife, Cheryl L. Banks of Middletown, DE; son, Robert J. Banks and his partner, Will Brown of Baltimore, MD; granddaughters: Lainey Banks of Eldersburg, MD, Maddy Banks of Baltimore, MD, and Lauren Banks of Baltimore, MD; mother, Mary Banks of Chesapeake City, MD; and brother, Ron Banks, Sr. and his wife, Carol of Middletown, DE.
He is preceded in death by his father, Robert B. Banks, Sr. who passed away in 1984.
A celebration of Robert’s life will be held on Saturday, July 1, 2017 at 11:00AM at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., 318 George Street, Chesapeake City, MD 21915. Family and friends may attend the visitation beginning at 10:00AM. Burial will follow the service at Bethel Cemetery, 312 Bethel Cemetery Road, Chesapeake City, MD 21915. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made payable to, “Neighborhood House” and sent in care of the funeral home, P.O. Box 248, Rising Sun, MD 21911.
