Richard Thomas Hutton

April 16, 1962 - August 7, 2012

Richard Thomas Hutton, 50, a lifelong resident of Elkton, passed away suddenly at his home on August 7, 2012.

Born in Elkton on April 16, 1962, Richard was the son of the late Frank V.G. and Deloise Broyles Hutton. His entire career was with the Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene where he worked at Upper Shore Mental Health Center and most recently as a nurse manager at Eastern Shore Hospital Center in Cambridge. He was a fan of the Orioles and Ravens and enjoyed spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Lisa Marie Hutton of Elkton; two daughters, Jessica Sheppard and her husband William of Bear, DE, and Jennifer Hutton and her companion Michael Griswold of Elkton; a son Jeremy Hutton of Elkton; two grandchildren, Jordan Elizabeth Sheppard and Mackenzie Reese Griswold; 6 brothers and 2 sisters. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers.

A service honoring his life will be held at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., 259 East Main St., Elkton, MD 21921 on Saturday August 11, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. Friends and family may call at the funeral home Friday evening from 6 – 8 pm or one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Elkton Cemetery.

Richard was a great guy--quick-witted, helpful to staff and patients, and then there was his great laugh...rest in peace, you will be missed.

To The Family, Please accept my condolence. I hope that you are able to draw comfort from the scriptures during this difficult time. Richard was a wonderful person. I saw him everyday, sometimes twice a day. He always made me smile. I will never forget 303 and 416. These were his special lottery number. He touched many hearts and will be missed terribly. I know several people that he helped with their mental illness and they said if it wasn't for him they might not be here today. God Bless you. You will always be special in our hearts of so many.

My thoughts and prayers with the entire Hutton family. May god give you all Strength to get through such a tragic event. Rich was my favorite lottery customer 1975 50/50 wa his favorite number to play, he will truly be missed by all that had a pleasure of meeting him, I am sure all of his children will live through his kind and funny character.
