Reva Gray Blankenship, age 83, of Elkton, MD, passed away on Thursday, November 2, 2017 at Union Hospital in Elkton, MD. She was born on April 7, 1934, in Lewisburg, WV to the late Harlan and Florence Mae Shaver Blankenship.
Reva worked on the floors of several manufacturing facilities over the years, including Beta Shoes, and assembling auto parts for Blue Chip and R&R Motors. She loved being outdoors, and could often be found on the front steps on the house she shared with her sister, Imogene, talking with friends and neighbors. Always the one for company, everyone had an open invitation to visit or attend her many cookouts. She enjoyed listening to the radio, especially country music. Her favorite pastime however, was being a grandmother, and doting on her grandchildren and great grandchildren, all who will miss her dearly.
She is survived by her daughter, Phyllis Barrett, and her husband, Ed, of Rising Sun, MD; sister, Imogene Nunley, of Elkton, MD; granddaughter, Tara Johnson, and her husband, Bruce, of Elkton, MD; grandson, Edward Barrett III, of Elkton, MD; and Seven great grandchildren, Ashley Johnson, William Johnson, Mikey Johnson, Brionna Barrett, and Arionna Barrett; Jacob Kennedy; Samantha Mcinturff and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her daughter, Marilyn Kennedy, grandson, Charles Kennedy, Jr., and several brothers and sisters.
Services will be held at 2PM on Monday, November 13, 2017 at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., 259 East Main Street, Elkton, MD 21921. Friends and family may visit one-hour prior beginning at 1PM.
