Tammy, Vic and Tori, Words cannot express the depth of my sorrow over the passing of Ray. On the few occasions that I saw Ray, I could tell he loved being around your family. You could just see the joy and happiness that your family gave Ray every time he came to visit. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. If there is anything I can do or if you need someone simply to listen, please don’t hesitate to call. Love and sympathy, Butch

One of the fondest memories I have of my Father-in-law is when I began to date his daughter Tammy 25 years ago (now my wife) Dad asked me if I knew how to change my oil? I obviously said no sir. Dad then said; "No future son-in-law of mine is taking his cars to a mechanic". He taught me how to change my oil and I've been changing the oil ever since. Thank you Dad. I love you. Rest In Peace, Vic

Ray was one of a kind. Exceptionally honest and forthcoming. he was quiet in demeanor and would give you the shirt off his back if he could see the need. John Lowe and I were blessed to get to really know him and help him through his last days. There is not enough room on this page to catalog all the memorable moments we had with him... even me pulling his F-250 diesel from Perryville Outlets to home with his tractor and John following behind him in his truck... flashers and all. That was even when Cecil County's finest with lights blazing pulled in behind John. We did not bat an eye... just kept pulling at 8 MPH. They gave up and just let us continue. And the time he was without "wheels" as we pulled his little Chevy truck from Landhope on 276 again with his trusty tractor and John in tow. No cops this time. Ray was in panic mode. He had no viable transportation. The three of us got it home and determined the problem was the fuel pump located IN THE GAS TANK. After much mental cogitation we convinced Ray it was the pump. I almost had to beat him with a stick to take my truck to pick up a new fuel pump... but he finally gave in and by the time he got back John and I had the tank off, drained and the faulty pump removed. Within 30 minutes of Ray's return with the new fuel pump our friend was back on the road. Folks this is one of many stories I could tell my friends Ray and John. I can tell you of the disappointments in his life... the things he'd liked to go back and change. John and I are going to miss him.... a lot.
