Ramona Yvonne Bundy

June 12, 1932 - December 4, 2020

Ramona was a 1950 graduate of Falls Creek High School and a 1953 graduate of Allegheny School of Nursing in Pittsburgh, PA. She married Leonard Bundy in 1955 after a whirlwind romance that included an engagement ring mailed from Korea via U.S. Mail.

Ramona was a Registered Nurse, she began her 40- year nursing career in Delaware in 1968 in the emergency room at the Delaware Division, also working at Wilmington General until transferring to Christiana Care in Stanton to work in an administrative capacity in case management. She retired in 1994. She formed many strong friendships during those working years in health care, many she enjoyed until her final days.

Ramona had many hobbies and interests. She was an avid reader, and loved movies on the big screen and never saw a jigsaw puzzle she wouldn’t take on. She also had a special talent for crewel embroidery, creating many family heirlooms treasured to this day. Ramona enjoyed traveling, especially with extended family to the Outer Banks of North Carolina.

In addition to her parents, Ramona is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Leonard of 49 years and her sister, Anna June Borland.

Ramona is survived by two sons, Jeffrey (Mary Ellen) and Kevin and six grandchildren, Michael (Jessica), Joshua (Cristin), Danny (Royal), Katharine, Nicholas and Joseph (Alexandra). She was also blessed with six great grandchildren, Royce, Remy, Cecilia, Bruin, Langston, Rowan. She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Rest in Peace, Ramona. I loved working with you. If we only knew you enjoyed the Outer Banks, we would have brought you down and back.

So sorry to hear about Ramona's passing. She was a dear woman. I was her caretaker. She will be missed, but I know how much she loved her husband. Now they are reunited. Comfort and prayers for the family.

I had the pleasure to be a part of Romona's life in respect of taking care of her. We had great conversations about her working as an RN in the Emergency Room, she took great pride in her profession. She will be deeply missed.

Thoughts and prayers to the family. We were neighbors for many years in Old Mill Manor. Her sons and my son were good friends in their younger years. Ramona was a lovely lady and will certainly be missed.

We enjoyed traveling with your parents on several occasions, Tony golfed with your dad, and we loved both your parents.
