Paul R. Grohol, age 81, went home to be with the Lord on Nov. 28, 2018, after battling Parkinson’s disease since 1997. Born September 15, 1937 in Hazleton, PA, he was the son of the late Paul and Helen (Ciglar) Grohol.

Upon moving to Delaware, he attended Goldey-Beacom College. Paul was employed as an accountant at Genuine Parts Co. After his retirement, he enjoyed traveling; including several trips to Hawaii and many cruises. He was an avid sports fan with a special attachment to the Cleveland Indians and Browns.

The family would like to thank Seasons Hospice & Palliative Care at Christiana Hospital for their kindness and exceptional care in Paul’s final days.

Paul is survived by his wife, Herberta (Butler) Grohol; brother, Ronald Grohol; sister, Janice Colasurdo; three sons: David (Debbie) Grohol, James (Sandy) Grohol and John (Nancy) Grohol; two stepchildren: Willard (Linda) Manley and Julie (Bruce) McCrea; and six adult grandchildren: Ian Grohol, Daniel Grohol, Sarah Grohol, Willard Manley, McKenzie Manley and Bryan Manley.

A memorial service will be held at 2pm on Sunday, December 9, 2018 at R.T. Foard & Jones Funeral Home, 122 W. Main St., Newark, DE 19711, where family and friends may visit beginning at 1pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made payable to “Seasons Hospice & Palliative Care” and sent in care of the funeral home. To send online condolences, please visit www.rtfoard.com.

My husband was diagnosed of Parkinsons disease 2 years ago, when he was 59. He had a stooped posture, tremors, right arm does not move and also a pulsating feeling in his body.
