In loving memory of Patrick Joseph McHugh, Jr. (71), a resident of Chesapeake City, who passed away on April 19, 2024. Patrick was born in Cincinnati, OH, on April 20, 1952, to the late Patrick Joseph McHugh, Sr. and Patricia (nee, Murray) Boyle.
Patrick’s commitment to excellence shone brightly throughout his life. He served his country with honor in the U.S. Air Force and earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Delaware. Throughout his long career at Morton Thiokol, ATK, and Northrop Grumman, he exemplified diligence and dedication as a team leader and respected colleague in logistics management.
Beyond his professional achievements, Patrick possessed a remarkable passion for craftsmanship and creation. His enthusiasm for learning was endless. With his many interests, from tackling intricate woodworking projects and renovating his historic home in the physical world, to creating websites and programming in the digital world, he always had an exciting work in progress. His love for life and travel motivated him to see the world through camping, hiking, and international trips. His affinity for the Chesapeake was palpable, whether he was boating on its waters or perfecting his swing on its golf courses.
Patrick’s spirit was as vibrant as his laughter, and his sense of humor touched everyone he met. His memory will forever remain a beacon of joy in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.
Patrick leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion through his many friends and family members. Among these are his daughters Colleen, Kathleen, and Maureen, as well as his beloved grandson, nieces, and nephews. He is survived by his father Richard Boyle; and siblings Cherie Wright with her children, James and Alexandra, Barbara Fairbanks with her son Edward, and Eric and Mary Boyle with their son Owen.
