Patricia Ann Sankus, age 66 of Newark, DE passed away on July 12, 2019. She was born on February 26, 1953 in Summit, NJ to the late Robert Edward Day, Sr. and Catherine (Revock) Day.

Pat was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Newark, DE for 30 plus years. Throughout those years, Pat served many positions such as: Treasurer, Deacon, choir member, Sunday School Teacher, and many sub committees. Many will remember Pat as a dependable friend with a great amount of integrity. She worked as a commercial truck salesman for Bayshore Ford in New Castle, DE where she flourished in making friends and forming relationships. Pat was a talented seamstress and made a variety of items such as curtains, Halloween costumes, and clothes for her family. She loved her family, but had a special bond with her grandsons. Pat recently discovered her love of traveling and taking family trips.

Pat is survived by her son, Steven Sankus and his wife, Jennifer Nolan of Newark, DE; grandchildren: Bryce Sankus of Burlington, IA and Taylor Sankus of Newark, DE; brother, Robert E. Day, Jr. and his wife, Darlene of Barre, MA; sister, Margaret Doremus and her husband, Dale of Springfield, NJ; nephews and nieces: Abby Day, Ashley Day, Ryan Doremus, Kyle Doremus, Caryn Sankus, and Kristen Letchinger; and numerous great nieces and nephews.

Pat was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Thomas E. Sankus who passed away in 2018.

A memorial service for Pat will be held on August 6, 2019 at 5:30PM at First Presbyterian Church, 292 West Main Street, Newark, DE 19711. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made payable to “First Presbyterian Church of Newark Delaware” or “The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society” and sent in care of R.T.
