Going to Grandmother's House by Elizabeth Wright, loving Granddaughter Going to Grandmother's house is such a funny thing to say. It wasn't long ago, I'd go to my Grandparents for the day. So much fun would be had in my Grandparent's home. So much delicious food to eat, family games to be won. A fateful day in June changed the course of new memories. A hospital bed, and beeping machines connected to the one I love. July came and the machines went away. The hospital bed came in to the living room to stay, loved ones stopped in to say their goodbyes. The dogs didn't seem to want to leave his side. But, in August, he was the one to walk away. Walk away in his new Heavenly robes. My Grandfather was gone from this earth, but now he was free. Free to run, free to roam. Roam the streets of Heaven, touring his new home. We were left here with pictures and memories. So, we go to Grandmother's house, which is now just a little less like home. For my Poppop. January 17,1937 - August 22,2019

I don't know what told me to look you up but something did and I'm so sad to see of your passing. You and Harriet were my favorite patients at Dr. Silverstein's office. The humor you had towards each other but with love was so nice to see. I left Dr. Silverstein's in July of 2019 and have thought about you and Harriet often. I am so sorry to the family for your loss.

Melvin Wilson, a good friend and the best piano player around. My nickname from Melvin was "Sister Nazarene" and he has called me that for years, never Lucille just Sister Nazarene. I will miss that and him. I haven't seen him in later years, since I moved to Delaware, but it was always a comfort just knowing he and Harriett were there. I am so very sorry that I will not be able to attend the funeral services and I am going with two other senior citizens to the "Southern Gospel Weekend," leaving Friday until Sunday night. Just want Harriett and family to know that I loved Melvin and Harriett to the moon and back. We will all meet him again and listen to him play the piano forever.

So sorry for your great loss! I remember years ago when Melvin played at our church - I could have listened to him play all evening. You will all be in my thoughts and prayers. You have all been very special to us.
Warren Williams left a message on August 27, 2019:
Melvin my dear friend you will be greatly missed. Your talent with the piano was inspiring and uplifting to me. I remember when I began singing with the Brothers in Christ, how you inspired me to want to sing many old time gospel songs. I remember during our breaks in rehearsal how you would start to play a hymn and I would sing as you played one after another. Those are memories that will last a lifetime. Prayers for the family. God bless

Melvin, you were one of the greatest people I knew. Your thoughtfulness of others and piano and organ playing were great. I remember you coming to take Carl and Roger bowling and took me also for my first time bowling.
