Martha Ellen Hewison of Elkton, MD, age 68, passed away Friday, August 7, 2020 and is now safe in the arms of Jesus. Martha was born on September 26, 1951 in Sandusky, OH to the late Frank Marion Hewison and Catherine Louise (Gaver) Hewison.
Martha was a corporate travel agent for American Express. She enjoyed long walks, playing cards, traveling, dancing and singing with Joe and Becky.
Martha is survived by her 2 sons: Edwin Thomas (Lyra) of Lancaster, PA; Richard F. Thomas (Christina) of Newark, DE; 3 brothers: Al D. Hewison (Marlene) of Bedford, TX, Frank M. Hewison, Jr. (Lois) of OH, Joseph L. Hewison (Cathy) of Frederick, MD; sister (with whom Martha lived), Rebecca H. Frese (Gregory) of Elkton, MD; 3 grandchildren: Ashley, Harley and Haley Thomas; 2 great grandchildren: Alaina and Anthony Thomas. In addition to her parents, Martha is preceded in death by her 3 sisters: Patricia J. Rohrer, Carol A. Good and Connie F. Rittenhouse.
A celebration of Martha’s life will be held on Thursday, August 13, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, 259 East Main Street, Elkton, MD 21921 where friends and family may start visiting at 1:00 p.m. Burial will be held immediately after at Gilpin Manor Memorial Park, 103 W. Stockton Street, Elkton, MD 21921.
