Marion Hedding Lynch, 88, of Cokesbury Village, passed away September 16, 2012 at Christiana Hospital.
The daughter of the late Don and June Keller Hedding, Marion was born in Winona, MN on March 29, 1924. She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Gerald Ackley Lynch; son, Michael K. Lynch and his wife Helen of Newark and a daughter Jane A. Lynch of New York City. She was preceded in death by her step-mother Anna Hedding and her brother, Wayne Hedding.
Marion earned degrees at the University of Wisconsin (Madison) in both Education and Library Science. She was a librarian at the University of Delaware, and was solely responsible for first providing the necessary information for computer serials cataloguing.
Marion was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Newark, American Association of University Women, The Newark Senior Center, The Newark Historical Society, the Weed and Seed Garden Club and the 2X4 Square Dance Club.
According to her wishes, services will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to your favorite charity.
