Knew this wonderful lady well. She was our neighbor for many years. She would do my Moms hair. Durham would come to see us each Saturday morning and buy eggs from my Mother. I stopped and saw her a few years back, she was working in her yard. We had a nice conversation about the old days.

Harry and I extend our deepest sympathy to her loyal daughter Lucille, loving grandson Donald, joyous great grandchildren (Donald III, Catherine, Jennifer and Harrison), and to Mrs. Durham's caring loving devoted daughter-in-law Maria who loved with all her heart for Good Mommy's well being. Each will grieve her passing with a fullness of their lives with Mrs. Durham. Peace and Love the Magazus (Harry and Kay)

My fondest thoughts and memories of Goodmommy are of her gracious smile and sincere friendship. Her love for God, family and extended families was unwaivering. Her raisin cookies always made with love and perfection -- so delicious. Mrs Durham was a fun, beautiful, smart and inspirational woman as well as an adored grandmother and great grandmother, beloved mother to Lucille and grandson Donald. Her life was a study in grace, generosity, compassion, humility and dignity. We will miss you, it was my pleasure to have known you and I thank you for 28 years of friendship and love to me. Rest in peace, your friend Kay and Harry Magazu

Lucy was "one" of those special blessings one has in life. She always made sure I had a seat next to her when I came to the Gospel concerts at her church. One time she made Lucille and her friends come to Pennsylvania just to deliver me a warm pie she had made. How sweet is that. It was always a pleasure to visit with her. Every time I would, I would knock on the door, open it, and yell, "Lucy, I'm home." As I heard the news of her leaving this world, I thought, as she entered Heaven, she might have said, "Jesus, I'm home." I love you my friend. We shall meet again at the feet of our dear Saviour, Jesus Christ.

When I first visited Mommom Durhams house some 30 years ago, I was so impressed by her beautiful table setting and gracious welcome. Over the years I realized she was that way with all her company. She would make recipes from magazines and always present them just like the picture. She would bring a stack of pies 4 feet tall to any event. She was truly a homemaker in every sense of the word. The pride in her home was evident inside and out. Don and I marvelled how meticulous things were when it came time to move her out of the home she so adored. She has always been an intregal part of our life and our family and we will miss her dearly. I am so grateful that our children had the opportunity to know her through their entire childhood and into adulthood. She will be missed, but I so happy with the peaceful and elegant way she left this world. Goodmommy, I am a better person for having known you and I will never forget you. Love Maria

Heaven waited such a long time for their sweetest Angel to join them once again. I am sure she is in the ever loving arms of our father, and he is weeping with joy to have her with him in His Glorious presence. Mrs. Durham was the single sweetest women I have ever met in my life. she will be missed by so many and yet I know there is great rejoicing not only in Heaven but also on earth for she is in the presence of the King!!! Tonight as we were at Mid-Atlantic District Church of the Nazarene 108th District Assembly in Turf Valley Ellicott City, MD. We sang a song "I can only imagine". As we sang this all I could do was think of my friend Mrs Durham. I could picture her as she saw Jesus face. She is with him and this is what she has been waiting for, for so long. I know she is at his feet and singing all the songs that she loved and would sit with her eyes closed and just sing and be praising him all the time. I thank The Lord that I had the privilege of staying with her on Mondays, would stay over night and loved that I was down near her when she would get up in the night. Lucille, I know she loved you so much and we would talk about it being your day to yourself and she and I would enjoy just being together. Then she would be so happy when you came home. You were a very special daughter to her and was so good to her. I know you will miss her, but know she is where she wanted to be and is very happy now with your Dad. Don, I am so sorry for your loss. She loved you and would always tell me how she raised you as you stayed with her while your Mom was working. You were HER boy!! She loved you as much as you loved her. Thank you all for letting her be a part of my life. I loved her and she taught me to appreciate every minute we had together. Mrs Durham loved her grandchildren, Donald, Catherine, Jennifer and Harrison. I know you will miss her always. I just thank God that you had her for so many years of your life. These memories you will have for life. Maria, you were so good to her and would always help in what ever way you could. I praise God for the special life he gave us in her. She was a blessing. Thank you Jesus.
